About

This is a blog about Squidoo. If you have no idea what Squidoo is, it’s a network of micro-websites called “lenses.” Squidoo lenses are like web articles on steroids. You pack them with quality information, then jazz them up with pictures and interactive content. You can learn more by visiting my introduction to Squidoo.

I made this blog in December 2007, not long after I first learned about Giant Squids. On Squidoo, a Giant Squid is anyone who has 50 or more quality lenses. With my paltry few lenses, that sounded like a difficult thing to achieve. I doubted I would even become a Giant Squid, since there had only been oneĀ  contest and no word about another one happening anytime soon.

But I started building and building, determined to be a big squid myself some day. In a few months, I had over 50 lenses. Then on May 2nd, 2008, I became one of forty or so lensmasters chosen to be Giant Squids.

You could say that anyone who’s just starting out on Squidoo and doesn’t have a ton of lenses is a little squid. But that doesn’t mean little squids can’t shine and eventually rise to the top! This is what “The Little Squid That Could” is all about: Helping other lensmasters learn how to make and promote the best Squidoo lenses possible.
